Jean Kittson

Jean is an author, public speaker, actor, comedian, and a passionate advocate for palliative care as Patron of Palliative Care Nurses Australia.

She first came to national prominence on The Big Gig, followed by numerous television appearances including Let the Blood Run Free, Good News Week, The Glasshouse, and Mother and Son. She has also appeared on Celebrity Apprentice, the film Seriously Red and more.

A long-time media contributor, Jean has been a regular panellist on ABC 702’s Thank God It’s Friday, a guest on Conversations, and a columnist for major publications including The Sydney Morning Herald. She currently writes for Australian Carers Magazine.

She is the bestselling author of You’re Still Hot to Me and We Need to Talk About Mum and Dad, and hosts the podcast DARE: The Time of Your Life. Jean is also an ambassador for several organisations including Raise Foundation (youth mentoring), the Macular Disease Foundation, the Australian Gynaecological Cancer Foundation and Taldumande Youth Services

In 2023, Jean was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
